Paragus – Progression and Sieging

Paragus has a new post up about Darkfall where he reviews his progress over the last 2.5 months and writes about the sieging mechanics.
The article is definitely worth a look. I’m approaching two months into the game, but my skills have developed differently than his. For one, I don’t think I’m putting as much time as he is into the game. Also, I’ve focused less on Magic and more on Melee. My greatsword mastery is in the late 30s and the base greatsword skill is in the mid 80s. Looking through his notes, I need to push a little harder on Archery. My Archery was around 60 points the last time I checked. I find that I PvE a lot so bringing up the damage for my bow would be really helpful. My Strength and Wisdom have developed a lot faster than his, but again it’s just a matter of where you spend your time. PvE and Crafting consume the bulk of mine.
On the topic of siege mechanics he raises some great points. The issue of bindstone kicking is always a hot topic on the forums. Personally, I’d like to see it removed from the game. If we’re to have any sort of large scale fast travel for long distances, I’d prefer just a handful of moongates that open on a set schedule to other moongates. Even with that I would only want to see very few gates and very limited schedules of possible use.
